Received word last Saturday that Fanny Sly Kyle died on May 11, 2001 at the age of 96. She requested her son Jim Kyle to intern her ashes at the Quaker Meeting Yard in Orchard Park, NY. This was done when the locust trees were in bloom and was attended by her sisters and other family members. A wonderful remembrance and reunion of scattered family members.
She attended the U. of Buffalo `25-'27, and received a B.S. from Cornell U. `30. She was a social worker, seamstress, rug hooker, gardener, and amateur photographer. Her husband, Peter, received his M.E. from Cornell U. 1933; was a professor at M.I.T. and Cornell, a gardener, stamp collector, loved building "things".
