Grave not marked. Mary Shoup never married. Through most if not all of her adult life, Mary lived in the household of her brother John Shoup and his wife Barbara Ann (Markley) Shoup. Beginning in Fulton County and Hancock County, Illinois and later in Audrain County, Missouri, Mary helped raise the 11-children family of John and Barbara. Following John's death in 1886, Mary continued until her death in 1903 to live with Barbara.
