MADISON - Robert L. "Bob" Golden II, 67, of Madison, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, at his home in Madison. Robert was born on April 10, 1950, the son of Doctor Robert and Jean (Barnard) Golden.

He was raised in and educated in Bingham and graduated from Valley High School. During his high school years, Bob developed a love for music, playing the trumpet in the school band.

Bob had several jobs in his life, working in various mills and shoe shops in the area. He eventually found his calling in long haul trucking, which he did for several years. He returned to the Madison area, working as a driver for Mattingly Products, and retiring in 2012.

Robert's love for music continued throughout his life. He enjoyed playing his guitar and trumpet with local bands appearing in many area night spots. He continued playing with friends and neighbors until his passing.

He was predeceased by both his parents.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Sandra Jean Merrill, and her husband David, of Bingham; and his grandchildren, Andrew Tremblay; and Taylor Constable, and her husband DJ. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Lincoln Constable; his brother, Michael Golden, his wife Holly of Solon, their son Michael Golden II and his wife Alicia; a grand-nephew, Michael (Reid) Golden III; and grand nieces, Charlie Jean Golden and Emerson Whitney Golden.

A graveside service will be held in Robinson Memorial Cemetery in Moscow. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Giberson Funeral Home, Madison. (Central Maine Newspapers 8/9/2017)
