DeVon Anthony Alles
March 18, 1930 - August 9, 2017

DeVon Anthony Alles, 87, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Parkview Hospital – Randallia, Fort Wayne. Born in Columbia City, he was the son of the late Phillip and Freida (Ness) Alles. He was a member of St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church, New Haven. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a hard worker who had a passion for farming and lawncare. He retired from BF Goodrich after 31 years. An avid IU fan, he loved fishing, telling stories, and most of all his family.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy; children, Mark (Kathy) Alles of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Chris (Kim) Alles of St. Joseph, MI, Ann (Ron) Kreienbrink of New Haven, Nancy (Barry) O'Shaughnessey of Jacksonville, FL, and Kay (Jeff) Sovine of New Haven; sister, Patricia (Francis) Laux of Bryant; 15 grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his children, Timothy Alles and Vicki Ritenour; five brothers; and one sister.

Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Monday at St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church, 15535 Lincoln Hwy E., New Haven with calling one hour prior to service. Visitation is also 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with prayer vigil at 6:30 p.m. Entombment in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne with military honors.
