Services for LeRoy Melvin Cantrell, 73, of Redding will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Halcumb Chapel in Montgomery Creek.

Burial will be at Halcomb Cemetery.

Mr. Cantrell died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000, at SunBridge Care Center for Redding.

Born June 4, 1927, in Big Bend, he is a lifelong resident of Shasta County.

He was a bartender at the Cascade in Redding and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include longtime companion Frances Popejoy of Redding; daughter Evora Miller of Happy Valley; brother Miles of Cottonwood and Orland of Big Bend; sisters Margie Hood of Grass Valley, Madeline Coy of Montgomery Creek and Mae Conley of Big Bend; and three grandchildren.
