FORREST ROSE PAYNE
1923 - 2017

Forrest Rose Payne, 93, of Cheboygan, MI., (formerly of Monroe), went to be with our Lord while at Tendercare of Cheboygan Health Care Center in hospice care. Burial and graveside services will be at Roselawn Memorial Park at a later date.

Born in Verda, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Noah and Nellie May (Bullock) Ridner. She moved to Cheboygan in 2009 to live with her daughter, Judy Kosan. She was married to Joe Payne of Monroe until he passed away in 1974.

Her first job was at the Monroe A&W stand. She later worked as a welder during WWII. She also worked at the Ford Motor Assembly Plant in Monroe for several years.

She enjoyed reading, gardening and occasionally traveled with her sister Oka, and bowled at the Monroe Sports Center with Oka and senior friends.

She is survived by and will be greatly missed by her daughter Judy (Payne) Kosan and her grandson Nick (Sherri) Kosan II of Cheboygan; two granddaughters: Megan Kosan of Petoskey, MI and Kadie (Kyle) Stockdale of Kalamazoo, MI.; one daughter-in-law: Gloria Payne of Monroe; two sister-in-laws: Minnie Ridner and Nada Rider and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Edward Joe Payne; five brothers: Nolan, Dale, Noah, Matt and Roger Ridner; two sisters: Eva Mae Lajiness and Oka Onita Strunk.
