George passed away March 10, 2016 at the Laurels of Sandy Creek. George was born May 2, 1916 in Grand Rapids, the son of Charles and Agnes (Frary) Crapsey. George attended Sheldon School in Grand Rapids, and worked at the Gypsum Mines and Plafkins Brothers. A loyal employee of Bradford White for many years, George retired in 1982. George loved to spend time with friends and family, and he attended Parmalee United Methodist Church, where he always enjoyed helping with breakfast. On December 2, 1961, George married the former Myrna Withey, and she preceded him in death on August 27, 1982. George is survived by sons: Richard Hanson of North Carolina, Terry Hanson and Danny Hanson; both of Grand Rapids, and several grandchildren, great grandchildren. great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. George was also preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Albert Crapsey and Eugene Crapsy, and sisters: Myrtle Flake and Beatrice Adgate. George's family will receive friends Saturday, March 12, 2016, 11:00 – 12:00 PM at the Beeler-Gores Funeral Home, Middleville; where his funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 PM, Pastor Tony Shumaker, officiating. Private burial will take place in Yankee Springs Cemetery. The family would like to thank many friends and family; especially family members; nephew and niece: Dick and Nancy Adgate.
