Madge L. Aakre, age 71, of Circle, MT, died Monday, June 10, 2002 at the McCone County Nursing Home in Circle.
Visitation for family and friends was held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, at the Chapel of the Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home in Glendive, MT. Private family graveside services were held at 10 a.m., Friday, June 14, at the Riverview Cemetery in Circle with Pastor Scott Anderson officiating. Interment was in the Riverview Cemetery in Circle. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Glendive was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Aakre was born on June 1, 1931 in Dupuyer, MT, the daughter of Theodore and Verna B. (Gamen) Orr. She was raised and educated in Dupuyer, often arriving at school on horseback. She married Elmer Aakre on Sept. 11, 1946 in Choteau, MT. Mrs. Aakre and her husband moved to Brockway in 1980 and later moved to Circle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer in September of 1996; her parents; two brothers; one sister and two grandsons.
Survivors include four sons, Elmer "Sandy" Aakre and his wife Shelley, of Vermillion, Lawrance Aakre and his wife, Jean, of Glendive, Jerry Aakre and his wife, Vi, of Great Falls, MT, Kerry Aakre and his wife, Peggy, of Circle, MT; one daughter, Kathy Ruddy and her husband Allen, of Killeen, TX; two sisters, Tootie Linquist and her husband, Jack, of Valier, MT and Daisy Aaberge of Columbia Falls, MT; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
