Susan Kay Wedeking, 53, of Clarksville, Iowa, died on September 9, 2012 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. Sue was born on October 4, 1958, in Charles City, Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Gladys (Hinders) Hoodjer. She was baptized on February 26, 1959 and confirmed on April 15, 1973, both at St. John's Lutheran Church, Clarksville, Iowa. One of the biggest enjoyments for Sue was playing softball and basketball while in High School and she graduated from Clarksville High School in 1977. On August 6, 1977, she was united in marriage to Tim Wedeking at Pleasant Valley Church, rural Clarksville, Iowa. She previously worked at the Red Fox in Waverly, Pete and Shorty's and most recently at K and S Grocery in Clarksville. Sue enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, watching the birds and squirrels eat off the feeders, gardening, and going for rides with Tim. She especially enjoyed kids especially her granddaughter. She is survived by her husband, Tim of Clarksville, two sons, Adam (Jennifer) Wedeking and their daughter, Morgan of Waterloo; and Keith Wedeking of Cedar Falls; her parents, Carl and Gladys Hoodjer of Clarksville; a brother, Milt (Roxy) Hoodjer; a brother, Bob (Cindy) Hoodjer; a brother, Bruce (Cindi) Hoodjer; a sister, Rita Price; a sister, Gloria Hoodjer; a sister, Peggy Hoodjer; a brother, Brian Hoodjer; and a sister, Sheila Hoodjer, all of Clarksville; 12 nieces and nephews, 5 brothers-in-law and their spouses, 6 sisters-in-law, and their husbands, and 31 nieces and nephews on the Wedeking side of the family. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Clarksville, Iowa. According to Sue's wishes her body will be cremated. The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly, Iowa.
