Henry M Mellen was born to Michael and Caroline Wolf Mellen in Newark, N.J. Henry studied for the Seminary at Rutgers College, New Brunswick, N.J., Class of 1925, and eventually became a Minister first in the Dutch Reformed Church and later in the Presbyterian Church. He married Elizabeth Ficken in 1897 and they had 3 children: Margery M 1898-1929, Anna M 1901-1975, and Henry M Jr. 1903-1969.
Henry died 9 days before his wife Elizabeth passed away.
NOTE: Elizabeth spent from late 1904 until her death at the Overbrook Mental Hospital in Cedar Grove, N.J. See Elizabeth's memorial page for details.
Henry is a veteran of WWI fighting in the Phillipines.
