Son of Edgar and Lydia "Carrie" (Carpenter) Lord, born in Trenton, Maine. He was 18 yrs of age in the 1900 census residing with his mother Carrie L. Lord age 41 in Eden, Hancock, Maine. He had siblings Leon A. age 12 and Crowell F. age 11.

He graduated University of Maine and spent his career in Arizona, Oklahoma, Texas and Oregon where he was employed with the US Forestry Service.

Cecil married Isabelle M. Small of Rockport Maine Dec 26 1910 when he was then residing in Oklahoma City. In the 1910 census he was in Oklahoma City and was a civil engineer and draftsman. Isabelle was the daughter of Fred and Jessie (Paul) Small of Rockport and they married in Bar Harbor Maine.

He was the Assistant resident engineer and later Park Engineer at Yellowstone Park.

They had children including Margaret born 1912 Robert C. born in 1914.

He died at age 59 and ashes scattered Yellowstone Park. This may be a memorial stone (cenotaph) in Woodbine or part of remains scattered there.
