State Regent, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Washington State — 1988‐1990. Her State Regent's Project was restoring the Washington State Cottage at Tamassee School (personally working on the project for many hours). During her term, a folder was prepared that delineated the several State Scholarships. A WSSDAR Archives Room was begun that separated WSSDAR Library room the Archives Room. The Eggleston's donated shelving. She also held the DAR state office of Washington State First Vice Regent, 1986‐1988 and Vice President General (at the national level) 1990‐1993. She was appointed National Chairman of the Resolutions committee by the President General, Mrs. Donald S. Blair (1992-1995). Her DAR Patriot was Daniel Waterbury, Sr. of New York.

Margaret had five children: Deborah Cane, Michael Cane, William Cane, Robert Cane, Phillip Cane. Her first husband was Cane, father of Phillip, Deborah, & Michael. Her second husband was LeRoy Darnell Eggleston. Her step-son was Robert Eggleston. Her occupation was Aerospace Engineering Manager of the Boeing Corporation for 34 years. She was Boeing's National Employee of the Year in 1978 and a motivational expert.
