Carolyn Jean Anderson, age 67, Joplin, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2017 at Freeman West Hospital.

Carolyn was born January 20, 1950 in Joplin where she attended school, graduating from Joplin High School, and then graduated with honors from Missouri Southern State University with a degree in Accounting. She worked for Leggett-Platt for over 40 years, retiring on August 19, 2016 as the Director of Segment Reporting. She was a proud member of the Seneca Cayuga Tribe of Oklahoma. Carolyn was also a very ardent fan of Missouri Southern Sports.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Allen Anderson, and her grandparents.

Survivors include her mother, Kathleen Castagno and her husband James of Joplin; her sister, Alicia Kay McKenzie of Anaheim, California; aunts, Wilma Tincher of Gilmer, Texas, Willis Snow of San Antonio, Texas, and Betty Snow of Seneca; many cousins.

A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2017 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in Parker Mortuary.

Private family inurnment of her ashes will be at a later date in Seneca Cemetery next to her father.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital.
