Mrs. Carrie Thorne Denton, of 2205 E. Capitol Ave., died at 11:30 p.m., Jan. 10, 1957, at Memorial hospital. She was 69 years old.
She leaves her husband, Wiley Denton; a daughter, Mrs. Freida McClernon, of Chatham; and four sons, Wilber Thorne, Jesse Thorne, Vernie Thorne and John Thorne, all of Springfield; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; and severa nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Denton was born March 24, 1887 in Taylorville.
She made her home in Springfield for the last 35 years.
Services were at the O'Donnell funeral home.
Burial was in Oak Ridge cemetery.
