Joan M. Cain, age 80 of Brentwood, TN, formerly of Paris, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2017, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN.

She was born in Paris, TN, on March 15, 1937 to the late Fred L. Brisendine and the late Florence Marie Miller Brisendine. She moved to Memphis, TN where she met and married the love of her life Tavy L. Cain Sr. They moved to Florida where they had their first child, a girl named Linda. They then moved back to Memphis where they had their second child, a boy named Tavy Jr. They decided to move to Camarillo, California in 1963 where they had their third child, a boy named Keith. Joan and Tavy were together until Tavy passed away in 2011. She resided in Camarillo until 2015 when she decided to move back to Tennessee to live in the city of Brentwood.

Joan loved being a housewife. She enjoyed going to all of the activities of her three children. Her passion was art. She would draw and paint pictures of landscapes.

While attending L. C. Humes High School she was asked to be a hall monitor. On one particular day, she spotted a young man walking through the halls. She asked if he had a hall pass. The young man asked her if she knew who he was. Joan stated that she did not and asked again for his hall pass. The young man stated that he was Elvis Presley. Joan stated “I don’t care who you are, you need a hall pass”. Mr. Presley said okay and went to get his hall pass.

Joan is survived by her three children: Linda Cain Kloeffler, her husband Randy of Sunland, California, Tavy L. Cain Jr. and his ex-wife Kathy of Brentwood, TN, Keith Cain Sr. and his wife Misty of Spanish Fork, Utah; grandchildren, Serenity Pinho and her husband Justin, Cain Clifton, Lon Kloeffler and his wife Dagny, Sky Sherwood and her husband Redmond, Dalton Cain, Zachary Cain, Jayden Cain, Keith Cain Jr., Maddison Cain, and Jaxson Cain; great-grandchildren, Jade Chamberlain, Levi Pinho, Carter Pinho, Bella Pinho; nephew, Casey Cain and his wife Sarah of Kansas; niece, Terrye Jones and her husband Jerry of Milan, TN; her brother, Jimmie Brisendine and his wife Shannon of Spring Hill, KS; and her sister-in-law, Merrye Brisendine of Paris, TN.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN, where visitation will be Sunday, August 27, 2017, from 1:00 pm – 1:45 pm. A graveside service will be held Sunday, August 27, 2017, at 2:00 pm at Maplewood Cemetery, with Jess Hedges officiating.

Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery in Paris, TN.
