Carlisle S. Hazelwood
Carlisle S. "Carl" Hazelwood, 78, of Oshkosh, died peacefully on Monday, April 23, 2001, at Mercy Medical Center with his wife and family at his side. He was born on March 1, 1923 in the Town of Little Wolf, the son of Albert and Amy Stevens Hazelwood. His first wife, Hazel "Gayle" Halla preceded him in death on July 3, 1979. He then married his long time friend, Patricia Barfell on August 24, 1994, in a lake side ceremony at Conover.
Carl was a machinist at Rockwell Int. retiring in 1980. He and wife Pat spent every summer at their home on the Tamarack Flowage, Conover, where they loved the beautiful northwoods and the nature. They also enjoyed sharing an interest in HAM radio. Carl's call sign was K911R. He was a member of the American Radio Relay League. Winnebago County ARES/RACES/SKYWARN, American Radio Group of Eagle River and UAW Local 291.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia, three sons, Michael (Barbara)Hazelwood and Mark (Carol) Hazelwood both of Oshkosh and Ralph Barell III of Alabama; two daughters, Toni K. (John) Lambert and Teri L. (Paul) Zutz, both of Oshkosh; 18 grandchildren, Jezra, Halli, Sean, Chris, Nick, Leslie, and Heather Hazelwood, Josh Day, Tige Alder, Mary and Jenny Heil, Amber, Rachel, Seth and Thomas Barfell, Tamara Ann, Paul David and Nathan Carl Zutz; three great grandchildren, Skylar, Bricara Hazelwood and Darrian Kaye Adler; two sisters, Julieanna Ehrenberg and Valores Schock both of Oshkosh. Carl is also survived by many loving brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law who helped care for him in his final days.
Mr. Hazelwood was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Hazel "Gayle"; two sisters, Alberta Twentyman and Dalores Adrian and one brother Robert Hazelwood.
Pallbearers will be Toni K. Lambert, Sean and Jezra Hazelwood, Teri Zutz and Doreen Schobe. Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Alphonzo, Paul Zutz, Ralph Barfell, Lynn Wegner, Nicholas and Christopher Hazelwood.
The funeral service will be on Friday, April 27, 2001, at 1:30 PM at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home (Eastside)
Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM and on Friday from 12:30 to time of service. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
In Lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
