Robert "Bob" Boyer(1927-2017)
YATES CITY - Robert "Bob" Boyer, 89, of Yates City, passed away at 12:02 p.m. on Tuesday, August 15, 2017, in Yates City, IL. He was born on November 15, 1927, in Edwards, IL, to Harry and Carrie (Sleeth) Boyer, Sr. He married Vera Moser on July 16, 1951, in Tremont, IL. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Tom (Vickie) Boyer of Yates City, IL, Terry (Leslie) Boyer of Peoria, IL, and Steve (Debbie) Boyer of Elmwood, IL; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in by his parents, six brothers, and four sisters.
Bob worked as a farmer his whole life. He was a member of Faith United Presbyterian Church in Yates City. He was also a member of the Farmington Moose Lodge, Lions Club, a past board member of the Yates City Fire Department, and Yates City School board member. Bob loved all his family.
Bob served in the United States Air Force for four years.
Per Bob's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded through Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, IL. Private burial will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to B.Y.E. Ambulance / Elba-Salem Fire Department. To make online condolences you may go to www.sedgwickfuneralhomes.com
