William M Howard Obituary - July 8, 1910 (Newark Advocate)

William Howard was aged forty-one last April and was born on a farm near Jacksontown where he was raised to young manhood. When nineteen years of age he was married to a young woman of that place and shortly after moved to Hilliards and from there went to the state of Washington, where he taught school for several years. Upon their return from the west they took up residence in Newark, since which time Mr. Howard has been a peaceful and respectful citizen.

He served on the local police force for about eleven years and was an ex-Captain of that body. He was also a member in good standing of the local order of Eagles. In December 1909, the deceased was united in marriage to Mrs. Elizabeth Buksar of this city and with her has resided in a cozy home at 308 Union Street.

The dead man is survived by four children: Mrs. Fawn Baker, David and Ray Howard of Columbus, Earl Howard of Newark, two brothers; Charles Howard of Johnstown, Eurice Howard of Pine St, Newark; two sisters: Mrs. Anna Cummings of Chestnut St and Mrs. Preston Snelling of Pearl St., and five step-children.
