Hank served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1965 attaining the rank of 1st Sergeant. He worked for Indiana Bell and AT&T as an outside tech for 30 years before retiring. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed golfing and carpentry. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, Claudia A. Dietzel, he is survived by three children, Kathleen (Richard) Burchfield, Steven (Karla) Dietzel and Linda Tedlock; five grandchildren, Haley Dietzel, Tyler Dietzel, Kailyn Tedlock, Chelane Roberts and Lindsay Burchfield; four great-grandchildren, Gavin LaCosse, Lillian Jourdan, Declan Herr and Johnathan Wright; brother, Charles Dietzel; and nephew, Nathan Dietzel.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Henry Lee Dietzel, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 24, 2017, at Temple Baptist Church, 1700 S. Goyer Rd., Kokomo, with Dr. Mike Holloway officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery with military rites provided by the United States Army and the Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team. Friends are invited to visit from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
