Lee Tilotta, 88, would like you to know his work here on Earth is done and he received an offer he couldn't refuse. He rejoined the System Garage at its celestial location in a reunion with family and friends where he will likely shoot dice, watch auto racing programs, and otherwise shoot the bull. These people were always on his mind as was the work he loved...recalibrating engines, timing belts and requesting assistance on the bigger jobs. The gang he left behind will be celebrating his life at Woodlawn Cemetery, Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 11:00. Service will begin at 1:00 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Internment at 2:00 at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Lee passed away at home Tuesday, August 22, 2017. Born June 15, 1929 in Houston, TX to Sam and Virginia Tilotta. Lee grew up on the Tilotta farm on Post Oak Rd. with his 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Lee was an army veteran of the Korean War. After the war he worked with his brother Tommy at System Garage downtown for over 65 years. Lee was an active member of St. Ambrose Church for over 50 years.
Lee is preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Virginia Tilotta, his brothers Phil Tilotta, Sr., Tommy Tilotta, Tony Tilotta, Buddy Tilotta, his sisters Josephine Johnson, Margie Alford, and Natalie Miroca, his nephew Phil Tilotta, Jr. nieces Lucille Bonneau, and Vicki Johnson, his grandson David Lee Tilotta.
Lee is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Pegge Tilotta, his five children Danny and Cecilia Tilotta, Mark Tilotta, Steve and Maureen Tilotta, Leesa Tilotta and Larry Brown, and Theresa Tilotta. Grandchildren Aaron Sanford, Justin Tilotta, Raymond Tilotta, Nathan Tilotta, James Tilotta, and Tara Tilotta
A visitation is planned for Tuesday, September 5 at 11:00 am. Service will begin at 1:00 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Internment at 2:00 at Woodlawn Cemetary.
Pallbearers are Charles Johnson, Gary Alford, Aaron Sandford, Nathan Tilotta, Raymond Tilotta, and James Tilotta
