Daughter of Late Journalist Wed to Solon C. Kelley 3rd in Chapel Ceremony

Miss Elinor Brisbane, Daughter of Mrs. Arthur Brisbane of 1035 Park Avenue and the late Mr. Brisbane, noted editor and journalist, was married yesterday afternoon to Solon Chester Kelley 3rd in the chapel of St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church. The Rev. Dr. George Paull T. Sargent, the rector, performed the ceremony.

Elinor Brisbane Kelley and Ewing R. Philbin were married yesterday afternoon in Christ Church, Methodist, by the Rev. Ralph E. Spoor Jr. There was a reception at the home of Mr. and Mrs. David Dows of 130 East 67th Street, brother-in-law and sister of the bride.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Arthur Brisbane of New York and the late Mr. Brisbane, the journalist. Her husband is the son of Mrs. Ewing R. Philbin of New York and Boca Grande, Fla., and the late Mr. Philbin.

Mrs. Chase Mellen Jr., another sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Ewing R. Philbin 3rd was his father's best man.

The bride is a graduate of the Foxcroft School and Bennington College. She was presented in 1942 at a supper dance given by her parents at the Ritz Carlton and is a member of the Colony Club.

Mr. Philbin, an alumnus of the Brooks and Choate Schools and Yale, was a captain in the Marine Corps during World War II. He is an advertising executive with Guild, Bascom & Bonfigli.

The couple's previous marriages ended in divorce. The will live at 11 Gracie Square.

The bridegroom's grandfather, the late Eugene A. Philbin of New York, was a Chief Justice of the State Supreme Court.

PHILBIN--Elinor. With great sadness we announce the death of Elinor Brisbane Philbin on Friday, February 27 in Manhattan. A New Yorker for 84 years, she founded the real estate firm that bears her name. Her dynamic, passionate and loving energy left a mark on all who knew her. Countless friends, admirers and a close family will miss her dearly. Elinor was the last surviving child of Arthur Brisbane, the well known journalist, and Phoebe Cary Brisbane of Buffalo, Batavia and New York City.
