On Friday September 18th, Luella went home to be with her Heavenly Father.

Luella was born February 3, 1936 to Irene Sowders McCammon #78490892 and Harley G. McCammon #78490809 in Monroe County, Bloomington area.

She graduated from Smithville High School and married Melvin Jack Deckard #64195104? in 1953. She is survived by her daughter Renee Linthicum (John) and her son Tim Deckard (Gale). She is also survived by her sister Marilyn K Eakins {mother of Thomas Tracy Eakins #175862273 son of Thomas Eakins and Marilyn K McCammon} and an aunt Kate Deckard. She also has five grandchildren 4 Great grandchildren. Also survived by a nephew and his family and numerous cousins.

As we say goodbye to Luella, we remember the things she loved. She loved her family and she loved to travel. She was a caring grandmother and curious world traveler who organized several trips with all five of her grandchildren. Whether it was three hours north or halfway around the world in Greece, Egypt, and Israel, she loved visiting new places and loved to do so with her grandkids. As they grew older, she loved reminiscing about the times they had spent together. These were special times that bonded her to her grandchildren and them to each other forever. Above all, however, Luella loved the Lord and she lived to share Him with others. She was an avid student of His word and eagerly shared its teachings. She also longed for the day she would return home. Reflecting on her life, she once wrote, "I have encountered many physical obstacles, but Jesus has delivered me from every one. Someday, whether 10 weeks or 10 years, it will be my time to go to heaven. I look forward to this with all my heart, and I will see you all again in our better home forever.

A memorial service will be held Thursday September 24, 2015 at 7:00 pm at the Assembly of God church at 9181 S Gore Rd, Harrodsburg, IN 47434 with Pastor Bill Richardson conducting the service.
