Michael "Big Mike" Ray Ammons

A celebration of life will be held for Big Mike from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Serenity Springs, Ben Wheeler on Sunday, July 30, 2017.

Michael Ray Ammons was born March 26, 1959 in Tyler, Texas. He was a resident of Ben Wheeler, and class of 1977 graduate of Van High School. He also attended TJC and worked for Matheson Tri-Gas as a driver for 24 years. He was a member of Brothers Keepers MC, Tyler Chapter, serving as Sergeant at Arms. He was also a past Master for Pine Masonic Lodge, #205 in Ben Wheeler and a member of Sharon Temple Shrine in Tyler. Recently, Mike retired from Ben Wheeler Fire Rescue after 40 years of serving as an officer and fireman.

Big Mike passed away at the age of 58 on July 7, 2017 in Tyler. He was preceded in death by his father, Hurley Ammons; grandparents, Joe & Lera Scott and Marlon & Dink Ammons; and beloved great-aunts, Liz, Susie, Anola (8.0) and Connie.

Survivors include his mother, Sarah Scott Ammons of Ben Wheeler; brother, Tony Ammons of Ben Wheeler; sister, Kymberley Hill and husband, Kenneth of Arlington; three nephews and one niece, Joseph Ammons, Connor Ammons, Victor Davidson and Laynee Davidson; and many friends and co-workers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brothers Keepers MC, Tyler Chapter 18, P O Box 8575, Tyler, Texas 75711 for camp "I'm Still Me", or Sharon Temple Shrine in Tyler, Texas.
