Marcus N. Banta, 28, of Plainville, died Sunday, July 2, 2017, in Plainville.

Marcus was born May 23, 1989, a son of Daniel and Joanne Loos Banta, in Quincy.

He graduated from Quincy Notre Dame High School in 2007 and attended John Wood Community College. Marcus started working for Blessing Hospital as an EKG technician in January 2011. He was a member of Columbus Road Baptist Church.

Marcus loved working out, playing baseball, basketball and Call of Duty. His favorite teams were the Chicago Cubs, New England Patriots and the North Carolina Tarheels. He enjoyed the outdoors, mowing his lawn and listening to music with his brother. His greatest joy was sharing the love of God with others. Marcus enjoyed spending time with his Blessing Hospital family.

Marcus would light up the room with just his presence. He loved spending time with family, cooking with dad, being served by his mom, and taking home the leftovers.

Survivors include his parents, Daniel and Joanne; his brother and best friend, Nick "Big Bro" and his wife, Brooklynn "Baby Sis" Banta; his special pets, his beagle Molly, and his beagle nieces Mary Lou and Macy Mae; maternal grandmother, Norma Loos; paternal grandmother, Anna Banta; numerous cousins, aunts and uncles; and his honorary father, Tim Miller.

Marcus was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Daniel J. Banta, and his maternal grandfather, Wilford Loos.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks everyone to wear Chicago Cubs wear in remembrance of Marcus.

SERVICES: Private family services.

VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 7, at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, Quincy.
