She was born Marie Vlachová & began using the first name of Mary when she came to the US.

She was the mother of Frank, Matej (Matty) & William Kropáček.

She married first Matyas Kropáček (Matthias or Matty) some time in the 1850's in Bohemia, which is now known as the Czech Republic.

After Matyas passed, she then married William Vala/Vola, but it is not known if they met in Bohemia or America. He died some time before 1915.

Mary immigrated about 1897, having Americanized her first husband's last name to Kropacek. She used Vlach, Kropacek & Vala/Vola on various records & documents during her lifetime living in New York City.

After her son Frank's second wife passed, she then moved in to help raise her 3 grandchildren, as well as helped run the family saloon.

There was a Mass of Christian Burial for Mary, a devout Catholic, on 30 January 1919, in New York City.

Mary is buried in an unmarked grave with both wives of her son Frank, while he is buried elsewhere.
