Delton G. Davis, 92, Bismarck, died August 28, 2017, at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck.
Delton George Davis was born in Beulah, ND, on January 23, 1925. He was raised in Beulah, Golden Valley, and Robinson, ND. Delton was drafted into WWII on June 4, 1943, and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was honorably discharged on January 31, 1946. Delton married Erma Clara Wick on August 6, 1945, at Washburn, ND. The couple raised six children. Delton was employed by local ND rural electric companies, retiring after 30 years from KEM Electric Cooperative in 1987. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion. A strong hardworking man, humble, kind, and caring, always ready to lend a helping hand. Ready to travel at a moment's notice, having his vehicle maintained and full of gas. Having a soft spot for animals and the less fortunate, he will be missed by those who loved him. Delton spent the past 30-plus years getting to know the Lord. A man who loved the Lord, truly worthy of eternal life.
Delton remarried Luella Foerderer on February 26, 1984. Delton and Luella traveled many places by car and motorhome and enjoyed spending summers on the farm, gardening and helping wherever they could, enjoying their family and friends.
Delton is survived by his wife, Luella; two sons and three daughters, Delmer (Gloria) Davis, Cleo (Mervin) Steele, Terry (Cheryl) Davis, Fern (Simon Mack) Davis, and Lila (Leon) Hoggarth; 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Doris Hopkins and Inez Nathan (Maynard Kuebler); five stepsons, Roger (Lorraine) Foerderer, Steve Foerderer, Bob (Linda) Foerderer, Barney (Esther) Foerderer, and Jim (Laurie) Foerderer; 19 step-grandchildren, 42 step-great-grandchildren, and one step-great-great- grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Erma; daughter, Cindy; two brothers, Burton and Gene; two sisters, Donna and Ethel; and step-daughter-in-law, Linda M. Foerderer.
