The cem rep was as helpful as possible: thank you. The rep could not visually find Maud's tombstone (8/2017) but nearby were Mathews' graves--in-laws(all,Block 4 sect 31). The rep found Maud's cem records(mostly illegible) only as Mrs Frank Jolliff or as wife of Frank Jolliff.(no birth name or maiden name) & "Frank Jolliff grave 5, wife grave 6, Block 4 sect 31". Frank was Benjamin Franklin Jolliff (aka B Franklin, Franklin B, Frank, Benj F, BF, etc in his various recs.): his Allen Co Ind Death Certif is recorded as "B Frenklin Jolliff"(see his mother's Wooster Cem Ohio F/G site 182813659 for his Wooster twp Wayne Co O resid. info). Maud's Allen Co Ind death certif has errors(corrections are in parenthesis):"Mand"(Maud/Maude) O Jolliff, certif # 117, wid.(her sp is not named), died "during an operaton for cholelithiasis due to nephritis followed by uremic poisoning." The informant was Mrs S J Mathews, add. Ft Wayne Ind(she was Bernice Jolliff Mathews, dau of B F Jolliff & his sp 1 (marr. 1891) Maud Baker).Maud O Jolliff-born June 19 1879 Ind, died Jan 8 1922(1922 is crossed out, replaced with 1923: all other refs to the death date on the certif are 1923) Ft Wayne Allen Co Ind Lutheran Hosp., aged 43y 6m 19d. Both parents, born in Ind, are listed as Elmer Batkenberger(Battenberg) & Susan Erhart(Earhart). Maud interr Auburn Ind Jan 11 1923.
The 1910 Union twp DeKalb Co Ind census listed Benjamin F & Maud marr. 14 yrs: Jolliff, Benjamin F 40 O O O m2, lunch room proprietor, Maud 30 Ind Ind Ind m1, dry goods sales lady, l of l child., dau Bernice 16 Ind O Ind, Marie 7 Ind O Ind.(Bernice/Berneice marr Samuel John Mathews 1913/14 Allen Co Ind). Maud's last census was 1920 Ft Wayne Allen Co Ind., widowed, age 40.
