Barbara A. Abel, 78, beloved widowed wife of Eugene W. Abel of Lebanon, CT, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday morning, August 29, 2017.

Lifelong resident of Lebanon, CT, Barbara enjoyed being a homemaker, an administrative assistant and bookkeeper. She was a talented artist specializing in watercolor, and an avid baker.

Survived by her children, Cheryl A. O’Connor, wife of Dan O’Connor of Limerick, PA and Eugene A. Abel of Colchester, CT; grandchildren, Abigail O’Connor, John Luchon, Paul Luchon and his wife, Alexandria Luchon and great granddaughter, Alette Luchon. She also leaves her beloved sisters-in-law, Calista Gingras of Chaplin, CT and Alice Cynthia Beers of Townsend, TN; nieces and nephews, Alice and Shane Kuzel of Lebanon, CT, Valorie Beers of Townsend, TN, Deborah Franklin of Sevierville, TN and Jeffrey Beers of Sevierville, TN.

Her family will receive relatives and friends Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson Street (Rte. 195) Willimantic, followed by a graveside service at 11:00am at New Lebanon Cemetery, Waterman Rd., Lebanon, CT.
