Martha Evedeen (Carter) Bollinger, 87 of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Saint Francis Medical Center. She was born August 22, 1930 in Vandalia, Illinois to Howard and Viola (Baldwin) Carter. She and Rev. Lloyd James Bollinger were married September 26, 1947. He preceded her in death on August 21, 2010.

Evedeen was a high school and college graduate. She earned a bachelor's degree in education and taught business education at Lebanon High School in Illinois. She was a talented piano player and able to play by ear. She also played the mandolin. Evedeen enjoyed working puzzles, reading, gardening and had a special love for all animals.

Loving survivors include her daughters, Janet (Gary) Krieger of Pekin, IL and Martha J. Bollinger (Steve Dunn) of Jackson; brother, Carl Carter of St. Ann, MO; grandchildren, Angela Fickert (Bill Dillow) and Mike Krieger (Tonia Dillow); great grandson, Brendan Fickert. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, seven brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Ford and Sons Funeral Home – Jackson.Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Janet Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sedgewickville. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
