Revolutionary War Patriot. Nathan Hine was born April 22, 1732, in Milford, New Haven County, Connecticut, to Thomas Hine (1707 - 1786) and Mary Hollingsworth (1709 - 1793). He fought both in the Connecticut Militia as a Captain, and later in the Ulster County Militia as a Captain. About 1752 he married Elizabeth Welch (1722 - 1794) of New Haven County, and they had Lewis (1753 - 1813); Hollingsworth (1755 - 1838); Joel (1758 - 1822); Ann (1760 - ); and Jonah (1763 - 1805).
