Paul is the son of Frederich Wilhelm Girndt & Anna Maria Theresia Carolina Helene Horrig/Harbig/Herbig/Herbich. He was born in Reichenbach, Eule, Silesia, Prussia, now Germany. Paul was 1st married/divorced to Orpha Quackenbush. They had two daughters: Helena "Lena" Girndt & Augusta (Girndt) Smith. His 2nd marriage was to Emma Larsen on 8 Mar 1902 in Chicago, Cook, IL. They had one daughter, Thelma Girndt. After Emma's death in 1906 Paul married 3rd Clara Margaret Hoiby in 1908. They had four children: Robert Milton, Dorothy Margaret (Girndt) Berti, Paul Raymond, and Clifford E. Girndt.
