Alta was the d/o John and Bena Vanderveen and sister to Willie, Rudy and Elida. She was married to William (Bill) Homer Hammons on April 3, 1917 in Twin Falls, ID. by Bill's Uncle Joel Hammons.
They were the parents of six children, Alta (Wilma), Delilah (Ila), Robert, Edna, Marnell and Ronald. Robert, Ronald and Edna predeceased her.
She was a very sweet lady with red hair and bright blue eyes. For many years, she and her husband operated a grocery store from the front part of their home. The park across the street was named for her, but in recent years, the local hospital has taken it over with buildings. After Uncle Bill's death, she never remarried.

She was my Aunt by marriage.
