Taking a year off, she canoed the Boundary Waters, skied around the world, then moved to Colorado where she pursued her love of the outdoors as a ski patroller at Loveland Ski Resort. Teaching elementary art during the school year and working as a lifeguard in summer in Denver, CO, she met Donald Costigan, her husband, poolside, wink, wink.
