PLOURDE, Donald Joseph - Donald Joseph Plourde, 58, of Cranberry Lane, Middletown, formerly of Durham, beloved husband of Patricia (Rudaitis) Plourde, was called to Heaven on Saturday, (March 3, 2007) at Yale New Haven Hospital, New Haven. He was born in Bristol, the son of the late Alfred and Irene (Duguay) Plourde. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served with the US Air Force. Don was previously employed at CT Transit Bus Company as an air conditioning tech. He was a member of the Durham Lions Club, active with the Middlesex Area Patient Services (MAPS) and will be remembered for his love of animals, including his dog, "Jetta", cat "Hightops", and bird "Blue." He also cherished spending time with his many friends at the Champion Sports Complex. Besides his wife, he is survived by two brothers, Norman Plourde and his wife Mary Anne of Southington, and Roger Plourde and his wife Sheryl of Bristol; a sister, Arlene Bouchard and her husband Donald of Bristol; father and mother-in-law, Xavier and Stella Rudaitis of Waterbury; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. from the Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown, followed by an 11 a.m. Funeral Liturgy in Notre Dame Church, Durham. Burial will be in the State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown.
