Death of Mrs. S.M. Calver
Mrs. S.M. Calver died at her residence, 207 A street southeast, last evening. She had lived here twenty-five years, was well known and beloved, and was charitable and much esteemed for her social qualities. She was eighty-three years and five months old at the time of her death. She leaves three daughters and four sons. They are Mary, wife of Geo. B. Whiting of Capitol Hill; Jennie, wife of Frank S. Oakes of Cattaraugus and Buffalo, NY; Amelia of New Lebanon, N.Y., well known as an educator and writer; William, a scientist well known in this city; James, a dentist of Capitol Hill; Henry, a patent attorney, and Thomas, a physician, but now in the employ of the Treasury Department. The funeral will be at her late residence, Monday, at 6 p.m.
