Henry “Hank” Burtness, age 87, of Chippewa Falls, village of Lake Hallie, died Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Dove Healthcare in Bloomer while under the care of St. Croix Hospice.

He was born in Chippewa Falls, the son of Julia (Storlie) and Austin Burtness. Hank was raised in Spring Grove, Minnesota.

Hank enlisted in the U.S Army, serving honorably from 1950-52, during the Korean Conflict.

On December 6, 1954, he married Delores. They resided in California for 15 years before moving back to Wisconsin in 1969.

Hank worked for Johnson Machine, then became co-owner of Production Components Chippewa Valley Die Co., until he retired in 1992.

Hank enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He also enjoyed spending time at the lake, and working in his machine shop, where he would build and fix equipment for others.

He is survived by his beloved family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, September 7 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls.

Interment with military honors conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council will follow at Prairie View Cemetery, village of Lake Hallie.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral chapel.

Hank's family would like to express their gratitude and thanks to the entire staff of Dove Healthcare in Bloomer for their exceptional care and compassion.

They went above and beyond and the family truly appreciates their kindness.
