James Dewey Rhom, 83, of Nebo, died Sunday, August 6, 2000 at Britthaven of Morganton.
Born in McDowell County to the late Robert Lee and Lela Edwards Rhom, he was retired from Henredon Furniture Company and was a member of Dysartville Baptist Church.
Surviving is his wife, Ruby Sumlin Rhom; two daughters: Frances C. Helms of Morganton, NC, and Rita Taylor, of Newland, NC; two sons: Wayne Rhom of Marion, and Roger Rhom of Asheville, NC; two step-daughters: Julie Michelle Patton of Nebo, and Linda Arrowood of Marion; a step-son, Bo Patton, of Nebo; a brother, Will Rhom, of Nebo; a sister, Oveida Justice, of Marion; 16 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 11:30 am on Tuesday, August 8, 2000 at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
