Douglas Cameron McDowell, 83 passed away on September 3, 2017. He was born May 16, 1934 in Payson, Utah to David and Miriam McDowell. He graduated from Weber High School where he participated in track. He served in the Military for two years. After serving, he attended BYU where he met Diana R. McDowell at a Flu Hop dance. They married May 1, 1958 and four Daughters followed.
Douglas worked for Work Force Services in Ogden and Salt Lake City for 28 Years.
Douglas and Diana enjoyed many years square dancing with the Dudes and Dolls. In their later years they loved to travel. They traveled to 49 states and several foreign countries. When the chance arouse they were found camping in the mountains. You could always find Doug out walking.
He is survived by: Karen McDowell (Val) of Magna, Janet Singleton (Myron), Wheatland, Wyoming, Dawn Price (David) and Lois Miller (Tim) both of Roosevelt. He has 18 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his three sisters: Joann Pingree (James), Jancie Gingrich (LaMont), and Louella Ash (Fred).
Preceded in death by his wife Diana and parents David and Miriam McDowell
A memorial service will be held Friday, September 8, 2017 from 6:00 -8:00 PM at the North Park Ward 4275 South 2175 West, Roy, Utah and a Graveside service Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 10:00 AM.
Interment in the Evergreen Cemetery, Springville, Utah.
