Doyne Marie Poff Lawson, 82, of Terre Haute, went home to be with the Lord at 4:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, 2006.

She was born Feb. 11, 1924, to Harry Poff and Eva Bozarth Poff. In 1942, she married Everett Gail Lawson who went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 16, 1986. She was a former employee of St. Anthony's Hospital, Vermillion County Hospital and retired in 1996 from Meadows Manor North after 22 years of loyal and faithful service. She loved watching Pacers basketball and Alanta Braves baseball. She was a fun and loving person and had a great personality.

She is survived by three sons, Bill Lawson and his wife Jane of Illinois, James and Dianna Lawson of Clinton, and Robert Lawson of Terre Haute; two daughters, Janice Brown and husband Mike of Rockville, and Peggi Landry and husband Bud of Terre Haute; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two cousins, Virginia Buntain and Jan Hannerhan both of Terre Haute; sister-in-law, Freda Lawson of Terre Haute; and a very special friend, JoAnn Akers. She will be sadly missed by all including her many friends at Garfield Gardens and the Moose Lodge where she was a member. She was preceded into new life by her parents; her husband of 64 years; son, Donald Lawson; son- in-law, Cork Wiegand; and grandson, Mitch Lawson.

Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2006 in Frist Funeral Home with the Rev. Ed Gladdish officiating. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Monday evening in the funeral home. Burial is in Little Grove Cemetery on U.S. 150 and Vermilion Road. Pallbearers are Bob Lawson, Mike Brown, Bud Landry, Jason Mayfield and Eric Wiegand.
