SIMPSON, Dennie Raymond, age 82, of Dayton, passed away on Wednesday September 6, 2017. Dennie was born on March 9, 1935 in Chevrolet, Kentucky to John and Jessie (Kirkland) Simpson. He was retired from DP&L. Dennie loved life and the outdoors, where he spent much of his time fishing, gardening, and earlier in life hunting and golfing. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Drexel, OH and attended the First Baptist Church of Bellbrook with his family. Dennie loved Jesus and did his best to serve Him through his generosity, helping all those who knew him.
Dennie is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years Jacqueline (Seals) Simpson; brothers, Thomas and Henry Simpson; and sisters, Lucille Northcutt, Geneva Northcutt, and Reba Reasor.
Dennie is survived by his daughters, Helen (Ralph) Salas and Linda (Jeff) Monnin; grandsons, Timothy Raymond (Jill) Salas, John Paul (Lindsey) Thompson, Dennie Ryan (Angelica) Thompson, and Caleb (Alyssa) Monnin; granddaughters, Stephanie (Matt) Towne, Jennifer (Brad) Boehmer, and Chelsea (John) Reagan; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Eugene (Wanda) Simpson; sister, Nancy Reed, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A visitation will be held from 4-7pm on Sunday September 10, 2017 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Rd, Kettering. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Monday September 11, 2017, at Routsong Kettering, with a burial to follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Trotwood. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the First Baptist Church of Bellbrook, 4100 W Franklin St, Bellbrook, OH 45305.
