Remembering D-Day, 75th Anniversary. Phillip Adler, born on the 4th of July 1916 and according to my grandmother's memoirs, died on D-Day 1944. His wife sent in an inquiry in Oct 1944 after not hearing from him for many months and his death was confirmed August 8, 1944, but Rebecca, his wife, wasn't notified till December. I can only imagine how worried and anxious she and the many other families of our servicemen were during that time.
