Billy Herron, 77, of Brandon, passed from this life Sunday, July 30, 2017, at Merit Health Rankin in Brandon. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00pm, Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are 10:00am, Thursday, August 3, 2017, in the funeral home chapel with interment in Lakewood Memorial Park. He was born January 20, 1940, in Hamilton, Mississippi, a son of the late Sammy Herron and Beatrice Humbers Herron. Billy had a lengthy career in construction, specializing in pool installation and dirt work, and owned and operated Mississippi Pool Builders and Herron Digging Service. His hobbies included watching Nascar and westerns, but his favorite times were spent with his grandchildren. He particularly enjoyed watching his granddaughter's barrel racing competitions. In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by sisters, Berthie Ann Herron and Carolyn Childs. Survivors include son, Billy Wayne Herron and wife Cheree; daughter, Cylinda Brown and husband Michael; brother, Richard Herron and wife Gail; sister, Georgia Buford and husband Ram; grandchildren, Shad Herron, Blake Herron, Karlie Herron and Matthew Brown; great-grandchildren, Foster and Maylee Herron; and his faithful canine companion, Buck.
