Bernice Lorraine Fletcher Hibbs, 70, of Rachel, passed away at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport on Thursday (Sept. 14, 2017).
She was born Nov. 27, 1946, a daughter of the late Russell John Fletcher Jr. and Amanda Lorraine Nutter Fletcher.
Bernice attended Farmington High School. She also attended Webster College, where she obtained her degree in accounting. She was employed as a billing clerk for Downs PSD. She loved NASCAR, West Virginia University and Steelers football.
Survivors include her six children, Christina Lynn Hibbs and boyfriend Alan Price of Shinnston, Sheila (Roy) Runyan of Mannington, Harry Lee Jr. (Loretta) Hibbs of Charlotte, North Carolina, Russell Hibbs of Indianapolis, Indiana, Casandra (Aundra) Hood of Morgantown, and Michelle Cowley of Charleston; eight grandchildren, Michael and Zachary Brown, Matthew Hibbs, Kayla and Kevin Kysor, Darrick Hibbs and Ashleigh Martin, Andrew Hibbs, Lia Runyan, Elizabeth Runyan and Dion Shaw; 10 great-grandchildren, Dylan Dean, Hannah, Aleah and Brycen Brown, Riley Kysor, Diesel Capet, Carleigh Kysor, Kyla and Tabias Hibbs, and Sophia Shaw; brothers and sisters-in-law, Judy Hamilton and Harry Vaughn, Nancy Hibbs, Gary and Joyce Hibbs, Mary Horvath, Carol and Jim Glover, Donna and Don Gum, Kenny Hibbs and Christine Niehenke, Fred and Shirley Hibbs; and also her fur baby of 17 years, Rocky.
In addition to her parents, Bernice was preceded in death by her Husband of 44 years, Harry Lee Hibbs Sr., who died Feb. 4, 2009, and in-laws, Robert, Harry and Josephine Hibbs.
Friends may call from 3-9 p.m. Saturday at the Hutson Funeral Home, 500 E. Main St., Mannington, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday with Pastor Lee Bowman officiating. Interment will follow at the Hibbs Cemetery at Salt Lick.
