Minnie Camilla Brown was born in Spring Hill, Pike County, Alabama in 1883. She is the daughter of William Lovett Brown and Mary Camilla Flowers Brown. Her mother passed away when she was only 20 months old and was raised by her stepmother, Kate Sikes Brown. She moved to Texas with her Father in the early 1900's and there she met and married Virgil Ernest Abbott, living in Wharton and Matagorda counties. She was the mother of two loving sons, Marvin Brown and Charles Ray Abbott. The family moved to the small town of Pasadena in 1924 and became well-known fixtures of the community. She passed away in 1970, after a long life.
