Randal Ray Cauley, age 78, of Freeport, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2005 at Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast in Destin, Fla. He was born on April 11, 1926 in Portland, Fla., the son of David and Gertrude Casey Cauley. Mr. Cauley was a resident of Freeport since 1972 after retiring from the U.S. Army. He was Methodist by faith and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Freeport. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving his country in the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant before retiring with over 20 years of service. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and hunting. Mr. Cauley was preceded in death by his father and mother; one brother, and three sisters. Mr. Cauley is survived by his wife of 48 years, four sons, four daughters, two sisters; one brother; and 11 grandchildren. A time of visitation will be held from 10 to 11 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, at the First United Methodist Church of Freeport, 174 Harrison St., Freeport. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. Charles Satterwhite. Floral arrangements are being accepted. Burial will follow in the Hatcher Cemetery with military honors. Clary-Glenn Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
