Merl L. "M.L" Carpenter, age 91, of Lot Mud Creek Road, Williamsburg, Kentucky departed this life on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at his home. He was born on March 14, 1926 in Whitley County, Kentucky to the late Beckham Carpenter and Amanda (Lawson) Carpenter. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Rosey Lee Carpenter.

He is survived by his son, Phillip Carpenter of Athens, Tennessee; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Lois Rooks of Williamsburg; special nephew, Willard Carpenter of Williamsburg; special cousin, Arvil Carpenter of Williamsburg; special friend, Peggy Partin of Williamsburg; and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.

Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until the funeral hour on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Croley Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be 3:00 P.M. Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ewell "Jamup" Lawson and Rev. Ronnie Rose officiating. Following the service he will be laid to rest in the Lot Cemetery at Mud Creek.
