As a man of many talents and interests, Eugene (Gene) enjoyed a full-rich life. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Gene also sought adventure as a private pilot, and he delighted in the challenges that being a business owner and entrepreneur brought his way. Gene greatly benefited from the assistance of Alcoholic's Anonymous and as a result he devoted much of the next 43 years of his life giving back to this worthwhile organization. Gene's most notable accomplishment though is his loving family.
He celebrated 46 wonderful years of marriage to Joann before she preceded him in death in 2001, and together they raised and are survived by their 9 children Rita Andersen of Corona, CA; Karen and Tony Hagerman-Johnson of Deer Park, WA; Cynthia and Doug Fraser of Riverside, CA; Stephen Fenwick of Phoenix, AZ; Gary and Deborah Fenwick of Collinsville, IL; Patricia and Andrew Smith of Riverside, CA; Kathryn and Scott Lyons of Eau Claire, WI; Harry and Debra Fenwick of Lee's Summit, MO; and Peggy and Michael Scoggins of New Brighton, MN. Also surviving Gene are his 25 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and his brother Richard Fenwick of Indianapolis, IN. Gene was recently preceded in death by his youngest brother Robert Fenwick.
Visitation will be at the mortuary from 2-6pm Sunday, March 11th. A Funeral service will be held at 10:30am Tuesday, March 13th with a graveside service to immediately follow at Riverside National Cemetery, staging #2. Services directed by Sierra Memorial Chapel Mortuary.
