Linda G. Kochanov, 67, of Danbury, CT passed away from cardiac complications after many years of battling Rheumatoid Arthritis, on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Danbury Hospital.

She was predeceased by her parents Courtney and Bernice Burton; her niece Jessica Kochanov and other beloved family members and friends. Linda is survived by her husband of 45 years, Martin Kochanov; daughters Lauren Kochanov and Janice (Jason) Hoffman; sister Carol Burton; Mother-in-law Mary Kochanov; in-laws Mark (Kathy) Kochanov, Bill (Jane) Kochanov, Tom (Debbie) Kochanov; Sandy McFall and Margaret Connolly. Linda is also survived by her grandchildren Courtney, Christopher and Connor Hoffman and nieces and nephews Mark, Christopher, Nicholas, Natalie and Alex Kochanov.

Linda was born in White Plains, NY, and grew up in Valhalla. She attended Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA, where she graduated with a B.A. in Mathematics, and met the love of her life. Post-graduation, she worked in advertising at Pepsi, Co. in Purchase, NY, where she had the opportunity to meet Pelé, a story she would go on to tell for many decades.

Linda's 40 years in Danbury were filled to the brim with community service, and commitment to many organizations and activities, including: Park Avenue PTO, Girl Scouts, DHS Band Aids and the Danbury VNA. For these organizations, she was not only an active participant, but was a leader and mentor, impacting and influencing children and adults alike.

She worked for many years for Danbury Public Schools food services, advocating for children, and was fondly known as "Linda the Lunch Lady." She adored working with children and often kept her math brain sharp by tutoring students. More recently, she was passionate about genealogy and spent much of her time "playing with her dead friends" by volunteering to help people research and document their family histories.

Always gracious and quick to send a thank you note, Linda appreciated the medical care she received from Dr. Richard Roseff and countless doctors and nurses who helped take care of her over the years. She was impressed by the care she received at both Danbury Hospital and Glen Hill Rehabilitation Center.
Linda was a loyal and trusted friend to so many, and all who knew her, loved her. Her presence was known as soon as she entered a room, and she made friends wherever she went. She was creative and funny, and always had a smile on her face. Her thoughtfulness and strength, her giving spirit, her love of family and friends and her infectious laugh will be remembered, but never duplicated.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Monday, September 18, 2017 at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, CT.

Friends will be received on Monday, September 18, 2017 from 3 p.m. until the time of the service.

Interment will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla.
