Catherine was born July 13, 1927 in Cato Falls, daughter of the late J. Raymond and Anna (Wilhelm) Mullins. She attended St. Michael's School in Whitelaw and was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the Class of 1945. On June 24, 1950 she was united in marriage to Wallace "Wally" Fritsch at St. Michael Catholic Church, Whitelaw. Wally preceded her in death on March 18, 2016.
After high school graduation, Catherine moved to the Chicago area where she worked for the federal government. She returned to Wisconsin, working for Pauly Cheese Company in Green Bay. In January, 1950 she met Wally and they were engaged a month later. Catherine also worked at Manitowoc Shipbuilding and Manitowoc County's Health and Human Services for many years. She took up skiing mid-life and co-hosted many Cliffhanger Ski Club trips with Wally. Her saintly patience and clever sense of humor will be greatly missed.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law: John S. & Nora Fritsch, Charlevoix, MI; one daughter and son-in-law: Ann K. (Fritsch) & Robert H. Armstrong, Jr., Portland, OR; four grandchildren: Michelle, Amanda, Grace and Jack; one brother: Marvin Hartlaub and his wife Judy, Whitelaw; one sister-in-law: Carol Mullins, Madison; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and many good friends. Catherine was preceded in death by one son Thomas Paul Fritsch in 1992 and one brother Jerome Mullins in 2008.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 3:30 p.m. at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Deacon Mike Dolezal.
