Egbert Wesley “Sonny” Acree, a resident of Austin, Lonoke County, Arkansas was born on March 17, 1926 to the late Egbert G. and Mary Elizabeth Acree in the small town of Rayville in Richland Parish, Louisiana.
Sonny was also preceded in death by his beautiful wife of over sixty years Nellie Marie Gotherman Acree, having married her in Saline County, in July of 1946. Their passing was also preceded by his five sisters, Abbie, Fay, Frances, Dorothy, and Katherine; two brothers, Willie Frank and Johnny.
Survived by his son Jimmy D. Acree (Barbara) of Austin, Arkansas, grandson, Justin Acree (Leah) of Cabot, and granddaughter Amber Waller of Cabot; two great granddaughters Cady and Addison Acree who will all miss him dearly.
A 32nd degree Mason and a lifelong woodworker that loved his family and dogs, he will always be remembered as an amazing friend, husband, father, brother, and grandfather.
A time of visitation will be Wednesday, September 20, 2017 from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. at A Natural State Funeral Service.
Graveside services will be held at 2:45 P.M. on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Pine Crest Cemetery 7401 Highway 5 North in Alexander, Arkansas, 72002.
